Gone Wild with the Locals — Wildlife Safari Tour

Would you like to get wild and meet some of the most interesting locals that live in this area?

If so, then take the opportunity to join this informative and fun wildlife safari tour. Sit back and relax in air-conditioned comfort while you travel through World Heritage Wet Tropics to the dry country en-route to Granite Gorge Nature Park to feed the Mareeba rock wallabies. These cute little creatures look forward to meeting you, and being hand fed. Along the way, the guides will share their knowledge and their passion for the nature of the Cairns Highlands.

Afterwards, go further into the countryside to seek out native wildlife in various locations. On arrival at the very special "Bonadio's Mabi Wildlife Reserve", you'll be amazed by Mark Culleton's "Birds of Prey & Animal" show. Then be escorted to the bank of the Barron River before dusk to look for the famous platypus.

As evening falls it's time to retreat for dinner by the Mabi rainforest. Learn about and enjoy the rainforest as your guide takes you for a walk through the Mabi rainforest to look for possums, bandicoots, pademelons and other nocturnal wildlife.
